Carter's Birthday

Wow, February 1, 2010 Carter will be 5 years old. Doesn't seem possible but yes it is true. February 1, 2005 was a great day for me, it changed my life in so many ways. In an earlier BLOG I wrote about What A Difference They Have Made In My Life, meaning Carter and Griffin. But today I am just writing about Carter. He has been such a blessing in my life, he has brought me so much happiness it is hard to even put into words.

Every time he calls me Papa it still is such a beautiful word coming from him. He knows I am his Papa but he also thinks I am just a big over grown kid that wants to have fun with him. When we are together and doing our thing he always seems to be having a lot of fun but I think Papa is having just as much or maybe even more fun than him. LOL

I told Joan the other day I enjoy any time I am with him but I told her I especially enjoy the one on one times when it it just him and I. I told her that probably sounds selfish but we do have so much fun when we are together.

Since he goes to pre K 5 days a week he doesn't get to go to work with me as often as he used to but I usually take him when he is on a school break, the people I deal with every day get so much enjoyment out of him and he always looks forward to seeing them also.

We go to the park, the pool, the beach, and of course McDonalds, one of his favorite things to do. We play games, he loves being outside. He still likes me to read to him, when we are together we just stay very busy.

I picked him up from school Thursday after noon, he spent the night with us and I took him back to school Friday morning. His teacher told me that when he came in to class Thursday morning he proudly told her, My Papa is picking me up today, I can't tell you how good that made me feel.

Joan told me the other day, you know Joe you realize as he gets older his priorities are going to change and we won't be as important to him as we are now. I told her I do realize that but before that happens I want to have enough memories saved up to last me the rest of my life.
